Dive Aid - Dahab

Dive Aid will be going live again to raise money for Dahab very soon so keep an eye out for how you can help.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find out much from the BBC coverage on the day, but having now spoken to Guy it's scary to hear what has actually happened out there.

So he will write a new piece for the front page and we'll start getting news out through the site as soon as we can.

It's been two years since I was out there with him, and the group of us had a great time at Al Capone's (where a bomb was placed in the restaurant). This year's dive trip would have been out there at the time of the bombings, but ended up being called off before the event - "There but for the grace of God".

Dive Aid - Happy New Year... Part 2

It's been a few weeks since we had a new article on Dive Aid. Even so, things are still ticking along in the background, and the recent Dive Aid: What We Have Done So Far article gives an overview of what has been achieved with everyone's support.

Paul has also sent us an update - Happy New Year... Part 2 - which is now published on the website. Paul's original account has created heated discussions on forums and news sites around the world; we are very happy to publish his follow up here.

I have now created a blog especially for Dive Aid. This will allow anyone wanting updates to subscribe to the Dive Aid blog directly. I will still post some updates here, but the Dive Aid blog will become the blog of choice for Dive Aid updates.

Steffi has sent through pictures of some of the Coral Grand Divers crew which we've now added to the Dive Aid site.

In addition, we've been sent through details of the Kermadec Islands Marine Reserve underwater photography expedition which we've also added for the moment.

With the various messages now coming through on the Dive Aid site, it has seemed necessary to distinguish them in some way, so I have now added a graphic to each to aid the reader. How does this work for you? And do you have any other useability comments about the Dive Aid site?

Dive Aid - A Decimated Khao Lak

This weekend has seen the latest additions to the Dive Aid site all now complete.

Today we have added Andrea's story - A Decimated Khao Lak, which includes a number of photos of the devastiation left after the tsunami. In addition, Andy Krant has been talking with a number of dive organisations, and has published responses from SSI and TDI/SDI.
